One garden bed done...5 more to go...

It's DONE!  Finally!  I finally had the time to get out into my garden this morning, pull out the mangy weeds, and plant my pertty "posies".  Got my exercise today...and I'm serious -- you can get a darn good workout with competitive speed gardening.  After pullling the weeds, I pulled out the big fat pygmy date palm that was big fat dead, and moved the yellow knock out rose over to its spot.  I also planted some divided crinium lilies and canna lilies.  They are all still small, but will grow in ni-i-i-i-i-cely.....

So, I  leave you with some photos.  Please bear in mind, that it still doesn't look FANTASTIC because I let behind some bamboo leaves (you wouldn't believe how many were there, and I just didn't get them all) and I have not laid mulch.  It will look even better in a few weeks as the plants start branching out and blooming.

Garden Mirrors Life

I finally broke down and bought me some posies!  I am SO ready to start digging in the dirt and getting these babies in the GROUND!

I have never planted zinnias before, but my plant Buddy, Rebecca, had some in her garden last year and I was falling all over myself just looking at them.  I love the color, and if you know me, you know that I am a chick who LOVES color.  NO TAUPE FOR ME!

(I have to apologize to Rebecca -- I actually "cheated" on her -- I went out and bought plants without telling her or inviting her to go...now I will have to go grovel...

But, I'll get over that pretty quick...)

I also bought me some impatiens, and some of those are already in the ground in the front garden.  I didn't have many weeds, which is why the flowers went in there first.  I've got a heck of a lot of weeding to do in the back garden to prepare the beds, but the weather has been fantastic, so I will be waking up early the next several days and start on that.
Besides adding the "color" many of my potted plants are coming to life.  I LOVE how my garden mirrors life, and vice versa. Like this Rangoon Creeper to the left, which looked like it was not going to make it...(see photo to the right in the green pot).

Sometimes, when we believe something to be dead, it surprises us and comes back to life -- whether it be a dream, or a lost love.  And, if it does not come back to life, we grieve it, but we find something else to take its place, and we often find that what is new becomes far more beautiful than what was there before.

I'm personally pretty glad that God built that into "the plan".  He's pretty cool that way.
