A Chick Does Tropical Garden

They are A-LIVE!!!!!!

This 100+ degree heat is killing us!  Well, not really, but it IS killing a lot of garden plants that can handle a bit of heat, but not weeks and weeks of it.  Typically, Houston has FOUR days in the summer of 100+ degree weather.  THIS year, we've had over 30 days.  In a row.  A "once in 10,000 year event."  YOUCH!

We were supposed to get some rain in the next few days due to a tropical depression forming in the Gulf of Mexico.  But, now they are saying that we may get NOTHING.  ZILCH.  We are going rain crazy.  Crazy to get some.

But, in the midst of this drought, in the midst of all of the complaining and whining and praying and wishing, there ARE some plants that are showing me they can withstand the worst of what Mr. Sun can throw at them.  And, besides this, when we think we are DYING due to the heat, some little creatures are also basking in the heat like it's "what they do."

Please enjoy these photos of some of those flora and fauna not only surviving, but THRIVING!
